Staff Accountant Job Description:

The senior accountant's responsibilities include maintaining financial records and reports, performing account reconciliations, tax preparation and review, tax research, as well as staff and intern supervision. You will also be assisting partners as needed.

To be successful as a staff accountant, you should have strong organizational skills, a willingness to learn tax rules and regulations, and an understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). An outstanding senior accountant should also have excellent communication and analytical skills.

Senior Accountant Required Qualifications:

• Earned a bachelor's degree accounting or finance.
• 3+ years of accounting/auditing or tax preparation experience.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Working knowledge of GAAP.
• Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
• Good problem-solving and time management skills.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, and computer skills.
